Light on Me Jesus – Original Painting by M. Thompson

Scripture

John 8:12
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Reflection

There are moments in life when the shadows feel heavy — when uncertainty, grief, or exhaustion settle around us like a thick fog. Yet even in those places, Jesus steps toward us with a light that cannot be overcome. His light is not harsh or distant; it is gentle, warm, and deeply personal. It rests on us, not because we earned it, but because He loves us.

The painting Light on Me Jesus captures that sacred moment when Christ’s presence breaks through the darkness. His light doesn’t just illuminate the scene — it transforms it. In the same way, His presence transforms our hearts. When His light falls on us, fear loses its grip, hope rises again, and we remember that we are never walking alone.

Jesus doesn’t ask us to create our own light. He simply invites us to stand in His. To let Him shine on our wounds, our questions, our dreams, and our daily steps. His light reveals truth, restores peace, and reminds us who we belong to.

Prayer

Jesus, shine Your light on me today.
Where there is fear, bring peace.
Where there is confusion, bring clarity.
Where there is heaviness, bring rest.
Let Your presence warm my heart and guide my steps.
Thank You for being the Light of the world — and the Light in my world. Amen.

Life Application

• Spend a few quiet moments today sitting in stillness, imagining the light of Christ resting gently on you.
• Ask Him to illuminate one area of your life where you need direction or comfort.
• Carry this truth with you: His light is not just around you — it is on you.
